Sharks sign Beard to bolster front court

The One Health Sheffield Sharks have continued their off-season recruitment as it was announced today that 6’9 forward, Nashid Beard, has signed for the 2012 BBL season.

Rochester, NY-born Beard, joins the Sharks from Japanese BJ League side, Saitama Broncos, where he dominated the boards, averaging seven a game in 18.8 minutes per contest.

Prior to his season in Japan, Beard spent time playing professional basketball in Latvia, Hungary and Syria having left Lamar University in 2006.

The well travelled forward becomes the Sharks second BJ League signing of the summer after former Shimane Susanoo Magic guard, Micah Williams, was announced earlier this week.
