2013 NFC Road to the Super Bowl Predictions

Over the past month I’ve bought you my opinion as to who will win the divisions across the NFC. Well no prediction series would be complete without gazing into the crystal ball just a little further and forecasting who will end up having a short playoff trip and which team will go all the way and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this coming February in New York.

So without further ado here are my tips for playoff success should my divisions pan out the way I suggested.
Four teams share the same record at 11-5 and two at 10-6 so I had to go to some tiebreakers to work out the seedings and it ended up like this.

1. SEAHAWKS
2. FALCONS
3. VIKINGS
4. COWBOYS
5. PACKERS
6. 49ERS

WILD CARD GAMES
PACKERS at COWBOYS – Home field has been good to the Cowboys this year and it’s with this in mind that I feel that Dallas will have enough to see off Green Bay in a wild shootout, both teams up into the 30’s on the scoreboard.
49ERS at VIKINGS – The Niners have to use their full bag of tricks to get this win and their highly ranked defence do enough to stop the leagues number one running back. Another close game that will be won by a field goal.

DIVISIONAL GAMES
COWBOYS at FALCONS – At this stage of the season momentum takes over and having come through a nail-biting end to the division Dallas are now on a roll and really take advantage of a sluggish Atlanta who is slow out of the traps. The early lead they gain is then held by a hard defensive effort and the Cowboys advance to the Championship game.

49ERS at SEAHAWKS – These two have been slugging it out all season in the West and this game is billed as its own Super Bowl. The 49ers will throw everything they can at a resolute defence that is backed up wildly by the famous 12th man. Turnovers will be crucial and it’s the Seattle team that creates more and punishes of the back of them. Seahawks will host the NFC title game.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP
COWBOYS at SEAHAWKS – This one is a slow burner and different from the games they played a week before to get this far. With so much at stake no one wants to make a mistake and both coaches are cautious opening with a ground attack. The Seahawks open up a two score lead and throughout the second half the Cowboys mount a furious comeback that leas to both teams exchanging big play after big play. With under 3 minutes left the Cowboys have to go over 70 yards for the go ahead score. Can they do it?

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ADVANCE TO THE SUPER BOWL.
Now it has to be said I’m not a gambling man and this has to be taken with a certain few grains of salt. I do however firmly believe that the NFC this year is quite wide open and that the six teams that end up in the playoffs will all have a legitimate shot of winning it all.
