What is going down in the WWE?
Ok where do I start…..
Monday night Raw this week has to be one of the worst Monday night Raws in the history of the WWE!
The night kicked off with Cole calling Cena into the ring for an interview, so for the next 15 minutes we had Cole and Cena going back and forth. Why WWE keep using Cole in this segment baffles the hell out of me but hey. About 10 minutes into this snooze fest that Big Johnny comes out to the ring to inform us the big show was not going to be on Raw tonight (like they can afford to have any more people off ) and the second he said that I knew we were in trouble. It got so much worse when we found out that Cena could pick his opponent for the main event later that night. Surprise surprise it was Cole!
Now I don’t know if the writers of WWE Monday night Raw get paid a lot but my god they should all be sacked after this week. This to me stinks of the WWE just filling in time while they think of something better for Cena to do and I am not a big fan of seeing Show v Cena, but at least with Show in the building I would not have to watch Cena v Cole!
To be honest I don’t think the Show v Cena feud will go anywhere and this time next year Show will be back dancing on Raw or smackdown. Trying to make Big Show the angry giant he once was when he first joined the WWE wont work now. This guy has been a heel and a babyface so many times its just boring…I recall when the Big Show first came into the WWE; it was St.Valentine’s Day massacre and he came up from under the ring to help Vince in his match v Stone Cold in a steel cage. The Big Show picked up Austin and threw him so hard into the side of the cage that it broke and Austin hit the floor. Now that was an angry Big Show. But now, no way, I cant buy it, I cant buy that he is the giant he once was and he tells us that no-one in sports entertainment can beat him, no-one in the WWE or UFC can touch him….Errrrrr hello, you got knocked out by Money Mayweather…. you lost a sumo wrestling match! Come on WWE this reeks of filler and until you find something else for Cena to do it’s like Cena v Kane just before Cena and Rock.
Looking forward, I hear Ric Flair may be back and next week Vince himself will be on Raw so lets hope he can shake things up.
With a few stars on suspension ( Orton and Y2J ) it’s not looking too good for the WWE – they seem to have had a few great months and then hit a brick wall where they are not quite sure where everyone is going. In my opinion the WWE don’t trust the so called new guys much. Look at guys like The Miz; this guy got pushed to the top of the mountain and was WWE champ. Now what is The Miz doing? When you are the main event of WWE Superstars you know you have fallen from grace. People like Kofi Kingston and Zack Ryder both had runs in the last few years yet nobody has shall we say, stepped up to the plate.
I worry; if we keep going back to the old guys what will the future hold for the WWE?
On a side note I want to give a shout out to a great wrestling podcast I tune into every week – go check out www.ringsidereport.net. Now these boys know wrestling
