Riders GM: “Chances of signing Sullivan are only 50-50”
The Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders were reported last week to be interested in bringing back Andrew Sullivan for a second term but talks have slowed in the last few days, according to Riders management.
Riders GM Russell Levenston, when asked on the progress of a potential deal with the GB forward, said: “We are, as you know, continuing to work hard to re-sign Drew and are very interested in retaining his services,
“However, there are still a number of obstacles to overcome before we can get Drew’s signature on a new deal.”
When pressed on the current chances of Sullivan re-signing, Levenston said ’50-50′.
“We’ve got a long way to go in the negotiation process…at this stage we’re hopeful but cautious. I really wouldn’t like to say we have anything better than a 50-50 chance of re-signing Drew at this stage.”
The Riders brought back Jamell Anderson for his second season with the club and are hoping to secure Sullivan before the start of the 2012/13 BBL season on 21st September.
