Scotland international Huffor tears ACL
Team Scotland guard Danny Huffor, who played for the Glasgow Rocks during the 2011/2012 BBL season, has suffered an ACL tear while representing his country in the Championship for Small Countries in San Marino.
The injury throws into doubt the immediate basketball future of the 25 year old, who scored 35 points on his Scotland debut in a friendly against rivals England prior to the BBL Play-off Final in May.
While it is unclear whether the Rocks had entered negotiations to re-sign the popular Floridian, the Rocks GM had previously indicated his desire to bring back the entire roster for the 2012/2013 season.
Player/coach Sterling Davis and Huffor’s Scotland teammate Gareth Murray are the only players currently contracted with the Glasgow side. While it has been widely reported that Canadian Andrew Wedemire has re-signed, it has not been officially stated by the Rocks.
Huffor was one of only three Rocks players to appear in all 30 BBL Championship games last season during a campaign in which several players suffered key injuries. He averaged 12.4 pts and lead the team with 43 steals.
Earlier this week he tweeted that he is expected to be out for 4-6 months meaning that he could return before the New Year.
