Riders fill point guard spot with Zaire Taylor

Zaire Taylor is the man tasked with filling the recently vacated point guard duties at the Leicester Riders, it was announced today.

Taylor, 25, has a solid basketball background having played at University level with the Missouri Tigers before spending time in the Dutch top flight with Nijmegan and finally, returning to the States for the 2011/12 season with the Staten Island Vipers in the ABA.

Former point guard and now Riders Head Coach, Rob Paternostro, knows a thing or two about point guards having recruited both JR Blount and Cameron Rundles in successive seasons and is excited about the prospect of seeing the 6’4 Taylor playing in the BBL:

“Zaire is a player that can do many things on the basketball court,” explained Paternostro. “He has good size and length for a guard at 6’4 but also possesses speed and athleticism.

“I like his versatility on both ends of the floor and am excited about the many ways we can use him.”

Taylor becomes the second new face at the Riders for the 2012/13 season, having joined 6’8 centre John Fraley in moving to the BBL.
