Cheshire Jets’ oldest supporter?

Cheshire Jets believe they have found their oldest supporter in 90-year-old Wynne Cook, mother of new owner Haydn Cook.

Mrs Cook, who in August reached that milestone, donned yellow and black and headed aboard the players’ and supporters’ coach to Loughborough University for Cheshire Jets’ first game of the 2012/13 BBL season against Leicester Riders.

Despite the loss, Mrs Cook thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the game, and cannot wait for this Sunday’s opening home game at Northgate Arena with the arrival of Mersey Tigers.

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Mrs Cook said:

“I used to come along to games some years ago with my grandchildren, but ever since Haydn became more involved in the team, I decided that I would too. I really enjoy watching sport, during the summer I visited London to watch water polo in the Olympics. Having seen the excitement in the first game, I cannot wait for the first home game back in Chester this Sunday.”

Mrs Cook is hoping for a reversal of fortune in the first home BBL Championship game of the season this Sunday, 7th October at Northgate Arena with tip-off at 5:30pm. Online tickets are still available, but after the impressive performance against Leicester Riders, sales are moving fast.
