Fife Flyers confirm Wands return
Fife Flyers have today confirmed the return of British defenceman Chris Wands for the 2013/14 campaign.
The 25 year old returns for his third season with the Flyers although his time on the ice was cut short last season with an injury that required surgery and saw him sidelined from January.
Todd Dutiaume said of Wands’ return: “Chris is a guy who has made tremendous progress since we made the move up to the Elite League. He has a lot to offer on the ice and when he uses his size and keeps playing simple hockey he is a huge asset to us.
“Last season Chris played a significant part of the season with a sports hernia but it got to a point that he couldn’t carry on and he had to undergo surgery. He is looking good now though and we will be expecting him to perform night in, night out to the high level he is capable of doing.”
Wands and his felllow Flyers take to the ice for their first taste of competitve EIHL action when they welcome Cardiff to the Fife Ice Arena on Saturday 7 September.
