The Wrap-Up: Winning streaks ended for T-Wolves and Sixers

Keith Firmin brings you The Wrap-Up on all of last night’s NBA games, including two winners losing.

Minnesota @ Cleveland

Kevin Love had a chance to extend the Timberwolves’ win streak at the end of regulation but he couldn’t connect on his shot meaning that the Timberwolves suffered their first loss of the season, 93-92 to the Cavaliers. Credit the visiting T-Wolves, though, as they erased a 16-point Cavs lead in the fourth but couldn’t complete the fairytale comeback when Love missed a last ditch three (Love was 0-7 from distance on the night). Bynum had a productive 10 points, four boards and three blocks in a little under 19 minutes.

Golden State @ Philadelphia

Another unbeaten streak came to an end last night as the Warriors trumped the Sixers in Philly, 110-90. Golden State weren’t interested in Philadelphia’s plucky start to the season, extending their lead to 39 points in the second half behind better shooting from all areas of the court. Iguodala finished as leading scorer with 32 points including a career-high seven 3’s, while Steph Curry had a triple-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. MCW had 18 points but on 4-of-17 shooting for Philadelphia.

Boston @ Memphis

Free throws iced a 95-88 Memphis win that was in the balance with just a minute to go. Three Grizzlies finished on 15 points in the win, while for still-winless Boston, Jeff Green had 22 points.

Houston @ Los Angeles Clippers

Houston were kept at arms length for the majority of Monday nights game against an impressive LA side, cutting the lead to 10 in the fourth before being blown away 137-118. Chris Paul had another magnificent game, notching his fourth straight double-double with 23 points along with an outrageous 17 assists. Dwight Howard’s early foul trouble limited him to just 26 minutes and nine shots.
