Osman relishing new season with Stingrays

American forward Dominic Osman says he will “lay everything on the line” for Excel Hull Stingrays.

The Michigan native, 29, spent last season with Toledo Walleye in the ECHL, posting 10 goals and 15 assists in 56 matches. Osman has scored three goals in his first five appearances for Stingrays – who retained the P&O Cup at the weekend – during pre-season and is hoping to keep on contributing.

He said: “I am just going to go out there and lay everything on the line. As you start to get older you realise it is not going to last forever. “I don’t want to look back and say I wish I would have done a little bit more. I will go out there and do whatever it takes – whatever this team needs I want to contribute to that.”

Osman, playing in Europe for the first time, also admitted he has been doing his homework on Stingrays and the Elite League.

He added: “Anywhere you go you do the same but especially coming to a new league, something you don’t know a lot about.

“It is a good league and it will be a lot of fun playing in another country. I looked into playing in Europe last year but things didn’t work out.  “But I felt it was a good time to move. A lot of people thought I would be a good fit here and I believe the same.

“I have been doing some research on Hull’s history and it looks like every year they have taken a step forward. I am really happy to be a part of a team which is going to take another step forward and to keep the ball rolling.

“I am excited to be here and I am ready for it.”
