Thunder bank on Rivers

American forward Hank Rivers has arrived for his second spell in Worthing. The Thunder have announced that the 6’8’’ power forward will sure up their front-line after a tough start to the season has seen them lose their last three games.

According to Thunder’s website, American guard Chris Talley has been released to make room for Rivers on the roster. Evidently coach Gary Smith felt that the backcourt was strong enough, and the team needed more strength in the paint.

Rivers could make his debut on Sunday when the host the Bristol Academy Flyers, who finished last season with the best record in the EBL. The home team will hope to get back to winning ways and will look to Rivers to be a catalyst for their success.

And in some Thunder-related news, ex-Worthing centre Shaun Durant has signed a temporary deal with Surrey’s BBL side, Guildford Heat.
