BAFA Leagues 2014 season – Week Two schedule
This Sunday sees Week 2 of the new British American Football season with 10 games on the slate, and 15 teams kicking off their 2014 season.
Last week’s big winners, Gateshead Senators, host East Kilbride in another early test of their Premier credentials. The other game in the North sees Lancashire entertain Tamworth, the latter hoping to build on their impressive 9-1 record from the 2013 campaign.
Due to the withdrawal of Sussex Thunder, there is only one game in the Premier South this week and Berkshire will be looking to bounce back from their opening day loss when they welcome the Bristol Aztecs.
In the National league there are no games in the North, but over in the North West we have newcomers the Walney Terriers visiting Manchester, and Chester will look to go 2-0 when they go to Merseyside.
The Midlands also welcome a new side in the form of the Sandwell Steelers and they are at home in their first game against the Oxford Saints.
Down in the South East there are three games, and another team making their debut. The London Hornets run out in their first match against an Ipswich Cardinals side that went winless last season and dropped down from the Premier South, so this will be a good marker for both teams.
Over in the South West we have what could potentially be the game of the day as the Bristol Apache host the Gloucester Centurions in a battle of teams that went 8-2 last term. Gloucester had a setback last week, and both teams will want to keep pace with Farnham who won big in Week 1.
