BBL Cup schedule confirmed

Ahead of tomorrow’s full schedule announcemnet for next season’s BBL, the league have confirmed the first round draw for the BBL Cup which  tips off on October 12. The first five matchups are:

Glasgow Rocks v Manchester Giants
Mersey Tigers v Guildford Heat
One Health Sharks Sheffield v Cheshire Jets
Prestige Homes MK Lions v Durham Wildcats
UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders v East London Royals

The games will be played as one off contests over the weekend of 12-14 October with the five left standing going in to a one off quarter final game. As previously mooted, it is at this stage that the Worcester Wolves, Leicester Riders and last year’s cup winners the Newcastle Eagles enter the fray. The format then shifts to a two-legged semi-final for the final four.
