BBL Tweets of the Week
At UKAmericanSportsfans.com, I’ll be monitoring tweets from BBL personalities past and present for our new feature “Tweets of the Week”.
The excitement of the new season has gathered pace, but the subjects concerning some well known BBL faces on Twitter are rather more diverse.
Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of the BBL on Twitter…
There’s a Scrooge on the loose in Leicester as Riders BBL stalwart Barry Lamble is lamenting the very early arrival of Christmas.
Are you f***ing kidding me……advent calendars in the shop already IT’S SEPTEMBER!! #NoXmasTillDecember1st

Plymouth Raiders’ new big man Matt Schneck has been rocking a retro hair style but he announced on Twitter the sad news that his Anchorman special was set for the chop. Better put that Sex Panther back in the cupboard Matt.
Anyone know a good barber in Plymouth? This Ron Burgandy cut has seen it’s last hours. — Matthew J. Schneck (@MatthewJSchneck) September 19, 2012
The announcement of the new Tigers roster caused murmurings of discontent across some of the BBL community notably former star man Andy Thomson who still allegedly has unfinished business with the Mersey club.
@bblofficial , how is it possible that the Mersey Tigers can still field a team while still having outstanding salaries from 2 seasons ago? — Andrew Thomson (@AndyThomson1984) September 18, 2012
Another new Raiders signing, Usher look-a-like Drew Lasker, has just learned the meaning of the word Bullocks. Drew, what did you think it meant before then……?
7 years later, I just learned what Bullocks really means! I thot it meant ahh Damn!!!

The Plymouth boys have certainly been active on Twitter this week but maybe not as active as Gavin Love would like if new boy Javarris Barnett has been spending his time with his feet up watching Noel Edmonds.
Deal or no deal England edition never thought they had this lol

Manchester Giants have just announced the signing of Devan Bailey on a one-year deal so maybe this will go some way to alleviating Devan’s discontent at the lack of reward for basketball players in England.
England has to be the only european country with talented basketball players that dont get 1/10th of what they deserve — Devan Bailey (@Devan9Bailey) September 17, 2012
Ex-Worcester Wolves sharp shooter, Tommy Freeman, is always good for a quote or two but this time the less said the better! If she’s Boo Boo does that make Tommy Yogi? Forget it, this is getting weird.
Boo boo coming back to see me in 26 days :))) — Tommy Freeman (@tfreefor3) September 17, 2012
League MVP and new Newcastle Eagles captain, Joe Chapman @joechap32 is really buzzing for the new season. He’s been one of the BBL’s regular and interesting Tweeters so I’ve included a couple of his recent Tweets. Played at 225 last year now at 210 I’m ready again for a great year !!! instagr.am/p/Pp0XaXgCup
THIS how they been told to guard me this year haha. it’s preseason bro ! smh . #MVP problems instagr.am/p/Pl6V9OgCm4/
Bradd Wierzbicki may be without a club but the ex-Riders man certainly has not lost his competitive nature. With a tough upbringing like that on the way, we might be seeing Bradd’s son in the BBL in a few years time!
Saw a kid at park put ball between dads legs im way too competitive if my son tries that ish on me next thing he is gonna see is the sky lol

I’ll be back next week with some Tweets from the first week of the new BBL Season.
