Blair Daly is back at Fife

Blair Daly will return to Fife for the 2013/14 Elite Ice Hockey campaign.

Entering his ninth season with the Flyers, Daly joined initially during the 2005/6 season after time with Edinburgh Capitals.

Head coach Todd Dutiaume said of the netminder’s return: “Blair has been a key member of our team for many years now. Since our move up to the EIHL he has featured in a number of games and has gone on to win us a good number of points.

“Blair has shown he is worthy of ice time and he should expect to see more action this coming season. The guys are able to play with confidence in front of him when  he is in net and that helps Blair’s confidence too. We won’t want to overplay Kevin too much this season so that will give Blair the opportunity for some extra games.

“Blair had to step in against Cardiff last season and he won us that game after it went to a shootout. He played fantastically after Bryan came off injured, then to cope with the pressure of a shootout the way he did says a lot about his character.”

Daly himself is pleased to be back for the season and looks to build on his performances in the EIHL. “I am delighted to have been asked to return to Fife for my third season in the Elite League! I’m excited for the season ahead and building from where I left off last season.

“I’m looking forward to working with Kevin Regan, I think he will be a great addition to the team and I am sure I will learn a lot from him.”
