Bolds leaves Lions for Czech side BC Kolin
Demarius Bolds will not be returning to the newly named London Lions for the 2012/13 season having signed a deal to play for BC Kolin in the Czech Republic’s National Basketball League a club official confirmed today.
Bolds enjoyed a successful spell in the British top flight with the then-Milton Keynes Lions, averaging 22.3 points per game over his two seasons in the UK, including topping the league scorers chart in 2011.
The departure of Bolds means that the Lions will start the 2012 season without last seasons guard pairing with Stefan Gill recently signing for the Manchester Giants. Perry Lawson and Tayo Ogedengbe join Nuno Pedroso in Coach Vince Macaulay’s new back court rotation.
Bolds will join fellow Americans, Chadwick-Farrell Barnes and Richard Field, on a BC Kolin team that finished 5th in 2011.
