Braehead Clan today announced a new signing, Canadian Mike Wirll.

The right winger is a former team-mate of Jade Galbraith and has spent time playing in several leagues including the ECHL, SM-liiga and the CHL.

In a statement released on the Clan’s website, player/coach Drew Bannister said: “Mike is a good guy with a great attitude on the ice.

I have no doubt that he will work hard for us, and will gel with the other guys on the team.”

Wirll, 29, will be landing in the UK sometime in the next few days, and is expected to ice for the Clan this week.  Braehead were eliminated from the Challenge Cup over the weekend following an aggregate defeat to the Nottingham Panthers.

They will now turn focus back to their Elite League campaign, which currently sees them unbeaten in six games.
