Christmas with BBL player…Jonny Bunyan

‘Christmas is here! Christmas is here! There’s reason to cheer! There’s reason to cheer!’ And over at BBL.org.uk, they’ve spoken to a collection of BBL stars from around the league about a range of festive-holiday topics from: where they will be spending Christmas, to what they’d get their coach for Christmas.

UKASF.com has access to the full interviews with each player and over the coming days, will be posting them for your enjoyment.

Here is…Glasgow Rocks’ Jonny Bunyan:

How are you going to be spending the Christmas period this year?
With my family and friends at home. But I can’t over indulge at the dinner table as we have our first practice back on the 27th so need stay in reasonable shape.

What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Definitely being with my family and following our usual traditions. Christmas is the best time of year for that and obviously getting presents isn’t a bad thing.

It doesn’t matter whether you were a child or adult; what’s been your best ever Christmas present?
My best ever present that I can remember was probably my Playstation 3. That’s definitely been the most used. But every year my dad manages to find a cheap funny present for the whole family to get involved with – generally a game of some sort which is always a highlight.

What presents have you asked for this year?
I haven’t really asked for anything. I like being surprised. As long as NBA 2K13 for my Playstation is under the tree, the rest can be left to people’s creative minds.

What do you enjoy more: the giving or receiving?
It depends on the person. I love buying stuff for my girlfriend and mum because they really appreciate everything they get and its good to be able to see them happy. But of course, when you get a great present from someone its hard to not enjoy.

Any Christmas traditions you’d like to share?
We have so many. My dad always plays a joke on my mum every year and buys a terrible Christmas decoration which doesn’t go with anything else and moves it all around the house. And my brother, sister and I always help my mum make the dinner in whatever way we can, even though she is always at the top of her game that day.

If you had to get your coach a Christmas present, what would it be?
That’s a tough one. Sterl already has a lot of good stuff. It would have to be either: a new foam roller because he loves those things or put some money on a gift card to his favourite clothes store.

And finally, what is your Christmas wish for the rest of the BBL season?
I hope we can stay healthy, stay together as a team and hopefully we can win some more games and put ourselves into position for some silverware this year.
