Dundee Stars 3 Hull Stingrays 1
A first win of the season for Stars at the seventh attempt as Stingrays miserable start to the season continues.
Only a single win in ten for Sylvain Cloutier’s men and 0 from 6 on their travels in all competitions.
All night Stars were able to find the space to fire major rubber on Christian Boucher between the Stingrays pipes and even making 56 saves on the night was not enough to keep his side in contention.
Only one goal in the opening period and that came the way of the home side at 11.02 with Alan Mazur firing home. Despite a shot count of 20 to 6 in Stars favour in the second period it was a shock equaliser for Stingrays at 37.03 with Jereme Tendler on target to see the sides go into the third session tied at one.
Stars grabbed the initiative and an early powerplay goal from player/coach Dan Ceman at 43.36 and effectively wrapped up the points at 46.04 when Jarrett Konkle scored Stars third.
The home side continued to dominate and never looked in any danger with only the impressive Boucher keeping Stingrays in the picture for the rest of the game.
