Flyers show initiative
Fife Flyers and Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to announce their new joint initiative and the launch of their “Big League” ticket which will be available for supporters of Fife Flyers and Dunfermline Athletic. The Ticket will be a partnership of “Fifes Two Big Teams” playing in the top leagues in their respective sports. The leagues are: the Elite Ice Hockey League and the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League.
This scheme will allow supporters of both teams who have attended a Fife Flyers or DAFC game to register for a half-price ticket on home match days for the following week’s games at Fife Ice Arena or East End Park. Any fans interested in taking up this offer should contact their respective team’s ticket office to register their interest.
The scheme will commence from this Sunday 4th December 2011 when Fife Flyers play Braehead Clan at the Fife Ice Arena. Attendees at this game will be able to contact Fife Flyers Ticket Office to confirm their qualification for a half-price ticket for the game between DAFC V Kilmarnock on Saturday 10th December 2011.
The only games which do not qualify for DAFC will be those against Rangers and Celtic and fans will only be able claim the discount for up to a maximum of three football games. All Fife Flyers games qualify for the scheme.
Speaking on behalf of Fife Flyers, Michael Boyle said “It’s fair to say that sporting attendances in Scotland are on the downturn. The recession is biting and with Christmas coming up this just may give supporters of Flyers and the Pars a bit of an incentive to perhaps attend more games. Flyers are seeking to extend their fan base in Central and West Fife and hopefully this may encourage more numbers through the gates! ”
Tracey Martin from DAFC added “Fife Flyers approached us with the idea of a reciprocal discount between the two teams and we felt it was a good idea. This will be an additional benefit for Supporters and Season Ticket Holders at Dunfermline Athletic providing them with the chance to receive 50% off tickets for Fife Fliers. It also allows us to reach out to sporting fans who may never have come along to a game at East End Park”
