Frazier extends Minnesota Vikings contract to 2014
Minnesota Vikings have decided to exercise the fourth-year option on their head coach, Leslie Frazier, through to the 2014 season.
Frazier, 53, helped take the Vikings into the postseason of the 2012 season, where they were beaten at the first hurdle in the NFC Wild Card game against Green Bay Packers.
The decision to extend his contract at Minnesota, almost a week to the day since he joined as defensive co-ordinator in 2007, comes after a seven game jump for Vikings from the 2011 season – 3-13 in 2011, 10-6 in 2012 – which is the biggest single-season turnaround in Minnesota’s history.
“Coach Frazier has done a remarkable job in building a strong foundation for the Minnesota Vikings and creating a very positive future,” said Vikings Owner and President Mark Wilf. “We value his leadership and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”
