James Hamilton resigns as Cheshire Jets coach
James Hamilton has resigned as head coach of Cheshire Jets just weeks after taking up the post.
It follows an incident that occurred between two adults at a junior basketball match, resulting in Hamilton serving an initial 48-hour suspension.
After serving that suspension, he has made the decision to step down from the role.
Cheshire Jets director Haydn Cook said in a statement, posted online today at www.jetsbasketball.org.uk: “Fans of the Cheshire Jets will be very sorry to hear that, due to circumstances beyond my control, James Hamilton has ceased to be player-coach of the Cheshire Jets.
“I am really sorry that James is leaving the club, he was already a legend at the Jets, and over the last month James has played a key part in getting the Jets back on court.
“He has worked day and night, and put his heart and soul into the future of the Jets. We will be the poorer without him.”
