Jets to put on padding
The Coventry Jets are teaming up with one of their sponsors for some unusual pre-season training this Tuesday (March 8). In an effort to raise money for Cancer Research UK, the team will be getting involved in a pancake eating competition at the Old Orleans restaurant in the city. Club Secretary Adam Etheridge said of the event “We’re always happy to get involved with fundraising and helping out where we can. Cancer has touched my life so I know how important it is that we all do what we can to help the fight against it.”
The competition gets underway at 7:30pm at the Sky Dome on Croft Road, and the Jets will have around six weeks to burn off the calories as they begin their season on Easter weekend (23 April) with an EFAF tie in Paris against the Cougars. Their first home game in the competition comes on 7 May at the Butts Park Arena against Sollerod Gold Diggers from Denmark.
