Jordan’s Serial: Bieber antics upset Keyshawn and Dickerson
Three headline acts have clashed this past week, but only one is currently active.
Keyshawn Johnson was never far from the headlines during his career on the field, whether it be for his hit and miss play, or his off field remarks and demeanour. Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, has had the media spotlight fall on him over the past few months as Minnesota Vikings back Adrian Peterson nearly broke his single season rushing record.
Both of these stars were once again in the news over the weekend after calling out a certain young popstar over his late night antcs. Yes, the multi-talented (Sub-ed Rob says: If you say so…) Justin Bieber has been seen driving around the well-to-do Calabasas neighbourhood in his Ferrari at breakneck speeds.
Johnson took it upon himself to confront the youngster at his home when Bieber was said to have hidden from the former NFL wide receiver. Johnson had not long left a party when the white Ferrari zoomed on by. Dickerson got himself involved by tweeting about the incident saying:
Hey @justinbieber I use to have a white Ferrari too, but I knew the speed limit in neighborhoods where kids played. twitter.com/EricDickerson/…

A case of grumpy old men or a star out of control?
Still Running Into Trouble?
There is a mixed feeling around Dallas Cowboys followers that although the draft was OK in addressing certain needs, it was something short of what was expected.
The talent is there and adds to an already loaded roster which will be strengthened further by returning injured players. While the new players bed in during the past week’s organised team activities (OTA’S), some of those returning have a point to prove.
This is certainly the case of running back Demarco Murray. The back missed almost half of last season due to injury and was also hampered in his first season before that. After a minor scare during drills on Tuesday he was adamant that he would be healthy and start in every game in 2013.
“That’s something I can’t control,” Murray said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, “I can’t control if anything happens. All I can do is go out there, play hard, play fast, play physical. Once I’m out there, I don’t think there’s any question about anything.”
There is no doubt that he has a talent, I’m still not sure he is a premium back, but he is one that the Cowboys need to help out what was an unbalanced offense last year without him.
This really is a pivotal year for Dallas, and maybe for Murray too.
Train Hard, But With Caution
Staying with running backs, and also staying in Texas we have the story coming out of Houston Texans OTA’s that their proven stud rusher Adrian Foster was carted off the field due to a severe calf strain.
At first it was hearts-in-mouths time for all involved, but immediate tests show that the strain was not as bad as first feared. Still it is a worry as these types of pulls and injuries do have a nasty habit of reoccurring. At this stage, it is unsure as to how long Foster will be sidelined, but no doubting he will be wrapped in cotton wool by Houston staff, or even ice as the case may be.
“I don’t think it’s anything serious, where anybody should be worried or something like that,” Andre Johnson, the Houston star wideout told the Texans’ official website, “I think if it was, he would’ve said something.”
It really is the time of year where teams coaches and front offices look on with hope that nothing serious happens to any player, let alone one so valuable.
Lastly, as reported last week, the NFL has had to reschedule the NFL Draft from its normal April slot, and has now confirmed it will take place at Radio City Hall, May 8th-10th, 2014.
The annual NFL combine will be held February 18th-25th in Indianapolis.
The new league year and free agency will begin March 11th, 2014.
The NFL Annual Meeting will be held in Orlando on March 23th-26th.
