The team will get together early September and start training for the season ahead in the new Worcester Arena. Their opening fixture will take place on the 19th October 2013.
James is pleased about the launch of the ladies team and the signing of such an experienced player, and said: “While most of my time is naturally taken up with the Wolves’ men, I also want to see the development of women’s basketball in Worcester. Shantrell is someone with vast experience who I feel sure has the qualities to lead this strand of the club.
“She will be arriving in the UK in early September and will be hitting the ground running in recruiting for her team, as well as beginning her studies at the University of Worcester. In the meantime, any players out there who are interested in being a part of the new ladies programme can contact me at the club for more information.”
