Manchester Giants continue Magic connection signing Devan Bailey
The Manchester Giants have continued their recruitment of former Manchester Magic players by today adding guard Devan Bailey on a one year deal.
Bailey, 23, gained his basketball education at the Magic under the tutelage of Giants coach, Jeff Jones, during his spell at the club.
The 6’2 guard spent last season with the Mersey Tigers where he averaged just over 9 points and four assists a game during a difficult season for the Liverpool side.
Bailey is the sixth former Magic player to link up with Coach Jones in Manchester, following on from the signings of Nathan Schall, Callum and James Jones, David Watts and Stefan Gill.
Bailey believes that the Magic bond that they share will help the team perform well from the off: “I’m excited to be back and playing with people who have played with the Magic in the past and to be playing under Jeff, who played for the original Giants, coached the Magic, and coached me when I was 16 years old,” Bailey said.
“Every summer we come back and scrimmage and we all understand how each other plays and we don’t think there’s going to be any problem on the court, as a team or a unit because everybody has a good understanding and knowledge of each other.”
