One to watch: Jimmer Fredette

Jimmer Fredette

Taken 10th overall in the draft, Jimmer finds himself at Sacramento via Milwaukee. Fredette posted over 1000 points for BYU last season in 37 games. That averages out to an impressive 28.9 ppg. Jimmer was 45% from the field and 39% from three point range in 2010/11.

There are plenty of questions surrounding his transition to the NBA. His size restricts his ability to defend as a 2 and the coaches will want to see him show that he can get in to the paint regularly in the big league. The combo guard is likely to be an off the bench player because of his defensive shortcomings but Jimmer’s story is one of breaking down barriers and achieving his dreams. Apparently as early as ten years old he was telling folk he was off to the NBA and with his brother and mentor wrote a note to himself committing to achieve that lifetime ambition.

Hopefully the story is just beginning for this Brigham Young graduate and you can’t help but want to wish continued success for this very likeable and very talented rookie.

Watch Jimmer getting it done.
