Over The Limit review

So Over the Limit has come and gone and i’ve got to say it was an okay pay per view – a good 7 out of 10.

I was glad to see Christian back and winning WWE gold again… If  he can stay injury free he can still become a big time player in the WWE. For a guy that’s been in the WWE for years now he is yet in my opinion to reach the top.

So the Tag team titles! For years now in my view the WWE tag team title champions have been shocking! Look back to the days of the Hart Foundation demolition, The Nasty Boys, the Natural Disaster etc. etc. WWE once upon a time took pride in the WWE tag team titles; how many times was the Hart Foundation a main event or pay per view event? What do we get now? Kofi Kingston having more and more partners and facing the same opponents week in week out . How many more times are we going to see Kofi and now truth fight Dolf and swagger…..?

Looking at recent years I cant think of too many great tag team contests – maybe the Undertaker and Kane and DX but apart from that the WWE tag team titles have been a joke to most. So onto the match itself what I was kind of hoping Swagger and Dolf would take get the titles but no in an okay match Kofi and Truth get the titles…… The next night on Raw they did it all over again zzzzzzzzzzz.

SHEAMUS ( C ) DEFEATS Y2J, ALBERTO DELRIO, RANDY ORTON

Now this match was a very very good match from the word go. They went at it straight away and it was good for Sheamus who got to show how far he has come since he joined the WWE. We had some great high flying moves mainly from Y2J and Alberto Delrio showed that he is most definitely a modern day JBL – you want to hate him but you cant!

In the End Sheamus got the win to which I am glad as WWE should keep the belt on him and let him grow as a champion.

BRODIS CLAY DEFEATS THE MIZ

Well this match just sums up the WWE thinking when it comes to The Miz they dont have a clue what to do with the former WWE champion. On Raw he’s in squash matches and now they squeeze him into a squash match on a PPV. Clay is yet onther superstar who after a big build up really seems to be stuck in WWE limbo. The match as expected was a squash match for Clay, WWE really need to use the big guys better; Kane, Clay etc. Yes these big guys can’t move as well as some but do we really want to see Kane in a youtube match and Clay in a squash v The Miz? No! Get Kane in the main event, he’s a monster and very good in the ring and he should be used in the correct way.

>CM PUNK DEFEATS DANEL BRYON

Now this was one of the greatest matches I have ever seen and I have been watching wrestling for over 20 years. This match should have been the main event not Cena V Big Johnny .

This was an old school wrestling match that had everything in it – old school wrestling moves, high flying moves, this match was why I got into wrestling, this match was Bret Hart V Mr Perfect, it was the British Bulldogs V LOD – great wrestlers wrestling a great match. CM Punk and Bryon really gave the fans a great show. The ending in which Bryon had Punk in the yes lock only for him to roll it into the 123 def left me and I would like to think all WWE fans everywhere wanting more… 10 out of 10.

JOHN LOUINTIS DEFEATS JOHN CENA

>Wow Big Johnny did lose his job! Do the WWE really think us fans are stupid?? Now yes I understand for the young kids who ( still think its real ) this match may have come as a shock…But please, this was by far one of the worst main events I have ever seen. Yes parts of it were funny but do I want funny from a main event of a PPV? Once again, no. And shock horror the Big Show turned heel and helped Big Johnny. I just hope that WWE use Show like he should be used and how he was used in the old WCW and early WWF-WWE days.

Overral a good PPV but it was let down by the main event IMO.
