An exhausting weekend ended on a high note for the UCP Marjon Plymouth thanks to a 113-68 win over the Durham Wildcats at the Newton Aycliffe LC on Sunday.

The Raiders would have finished their double header of road games this weekend with two wins out of two had it not been for the final second 83-80 defeat against the Leicester Riders on Saturday but will be delighted with two hard fought performances and one win on a difficult road trip.

Despite the final score, the Wildcats opened the game confidently, leading by two points at the end of the first quarter, up 18-16. But a 12 point outburst from red-hot guard, Jeremy Bell, and careless ball handling by the Wildcats (eight turnovers in the second quarter, 18 in the game) in the second quarter gave the visitors an unassailable 21 point lead heading into the half at 52-31.

By the end of the third quarter, a period which saw the visiting Raiders outscore the home side by 19 points, the win was sealed for Coach Love’s side as they cruised the rest of the game to pick up a 113-68 victory.

The Raiders had big performances from Schneck (20/13), O’Reilly (22 points) and Michael Ojo (20 points). Andrew Keister top scored for the Wildcats with 16.

Game MVP:

Playing a full 40 minutes on Saturday before travelling to Durham on Sunday, it would have been understandable if the Raiders Jeremy Bell shot poorly against the Wildcats. But Bell, not one to disappoint, led all scorers with 27 points on a fantasy 73% shooting.

This is the cowboy version of Jeremy Bell…
