Riders fans to welcome back Flinder Boyd

The Leicester Riders will today unveil new signing, Flinder Boyd, to the crowd at the JSSC as he joins the team to start the 2011-12 BBL season.

Although Boyd is a new signing for the Riders, he is also a returning Rider having started his BBL career at the Leicester based club during the 2008-9 season, a mid-season signing by Coach Paternostro.

This time around though, Paternostro recruited the San Francisco born guard before the season, a talent too good to miss out on:

“He’s a really good basketball player and I’m trying to get as many good basketball players on the roster as possible.  That’s always been my goal.  When you have an opportunity to get a good player who fits in with what you’re trying to do, you go out and do it.”

Boyd joins Rundles, Hardy, Griffin and Wierzbicki in being the new recruits for the 2011-12 season and all will be available for the final pre-season game against Leeds Carnegie at the John Sandford Sports Centre on Saturday 24th September 2011.

Tip-off is at 7pm and at the time of writing, tickets can still be bought on the door.
