Shortlisting for Tendler
Nominations have been announced for the Elite League’s Newcomer of the Year award for the 2010/11 season, with Hull Stingrays’ forward Jereme Tendler shortlisted for the award .
The Canadian has had an amazing first term here in the UK since heading over from the Corpus Christi Ice Rayz. The same team Stingrays player-coach Sylvain Cloutier joined from.
Tendler heads the point scoring charts for Hull this season with 75 from 56 games and netted his 45th, 46th and 47th goals in an 8-0 win against the Capitals yesterday. The 27-year-old has hit four hat-tricks, scored 15 powerplay goals and has amassed a league-record 11 short-handed strikes.
Tendler is up for nomination along side Cardiff Devils’ hitman Jon Pelle, who has over 100 points in his first year, and team mate and defenceman Craig Weller, who is also enjoying a stand-out season in the Elite League. The awards will be presented at the annual Elite League dinner on Friday April 1 at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.
