Team GB break streak, beat Portugal 83-68

GB played their ninth game of 2012, finally breaking their eight game losing streak to beat Portugal 83-68.

Trailing by two at 39-37 heading into the half, Coach Finch’s side looked a shade of the team which had run Lithuania, France and Spain so closely in recent weeks.

But a third quarter defensive masterclass by Team GB, holding the visitors to only six points, propelled the home side on to a comfortable win in front of the Motorpoint Arena.

Deng was the leading scorer in the game with 21 points.

Portugal will be looking for revenge at Ponds Forge tomorrow as the two teams meet for the second time in as many days. Tip-off is at 3:00pm.
