The Wrap-Up: Dwight loses to LA as Nuggets break streak
Keith Firmin brings you The Wrap-Up on all of last night’s NBA games, including Dwight’s loss to the Lakers and the Nuggets getting their first W.
Los Angeles Clippers @ Miami Heat
LeBron James iced the win with two late free throws to give the Heat a narrow 102-97 win over the Clippers. Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 29 points while Blake Griffin had 27 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Paul continued his streak of double-doubles by notching 11 points and 12 assists as starters from both teams found themselves in foul trouble in this physical encounter.

Atlanta Hawks @ Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets broke their season starting winless streak with a 109-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The game was nip and tuck throughout and although the Hawks found themselves with the ball in their hands, time expiring and a chance to win, two missed shots by first Millsap (29 points) and then Horford (21 points) let the Nuggets off the hook. Denver hit 14 of 25 from downtown in the win.
Los Angeles Lakers @ Houston Rockets
All the questions before the game were about Dwight playing his former team but after the game, the focus was on the Rockets perimeter defence after they allowed the Lakers guards to score 87 of their points in a 99-98 win. Steve Blake’s three at the buzzer rescued the Lakers after they had thrown away a second half 14 point lead. The Rockets shot 52 free throws to the Lakers 15 but Dwight only connected on 5 of his 16, to end the game with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
