The Wrap-Up: Westbrook returns and Love keeps beasting
Keith Firmin brings you The Wrap-Up on all of last night’s NBA games, including Westbrook’s winning return and Kidd’s losing return.
Boston @ Detroit
The Pistons front court pairing of Drummond and Monroe both finished with a double-double as the home team beat the Celtics, 87-77. Brandon Jennings played his first game for Detroit since moving from the Bucks in the Summer. Kelly Olynyk scored 15 points to lead all Celtics.
Washington @ Miami
The Heat’s Big Three combined for 69 points in a 103-93 win over the Wizards, who remain winless. Miami’s win takes them back to .500 on the season after dipping below that mark with their loss to Brooklyn for the first time since the opening day of the Big Three era.
Brooklyn @ Orlando
Jason Kidd was in charge of his first NBA regular season Nets game after serving a two game ban for drink-driving, but he wasn’t able to stop his team from dropping one on the road to the Magic, 107-86. A strong start to the second half by Orlando blew the Nets away and they were never able to recover. The Magic’s balanced offense saw six players score in double-digits while for Brooklyn, only three players had more than 10 points.

Westbrook shot only 5-of-16 but connected on 11-from-14 at the charity stripe to finish with 21 points to go with his seven assists. Kevin Durant had a game-high 33 points along with 10 boards. The loss was the Suns’ first this season. Eric Bledsoe finished with 26 points and 14 assists but had eight turnovers in defeat.

Minnesota @ New York
The Timberwolves walked into MSG unbeaten and walked out of the arena with their win streak still in tact after beating the Knicks 109-100. Kevin Love had another monster game with 34 points and 15 rebounds, while Kevin Martin exploded for 30 points. Anthony’s own big night of 22 points and 17 rebounds wasn’t enough in the loss.
Atlanta @ Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers edged a close one against the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 105-103 thanks to a pair of Gasol free throws and a defensive play to seal the win by the big Spaniard. Gasol finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Xavier Henry chipped in 18 points. Hawks wingman, Korver, had 22 points in the loss.
