They want you, they want you

Fixture lists are being agreed right now for the new American Football season in the UK, and many teams are recruiting for both youth and adult teams. To promote American Football in the UK, and to help new players find their local club, we have provided information on how to get involved.

If you think you have what it takes to join a BAFA Premiership club then there are six to choose from.

Bristol Aztecs

The Aztecs finished second in the Premiership last season, but lost in the playoffs to the Coventry Jets. They are recruiting this season for both their Adult and Youth Aztec sides. If you are aged 14-19 years old and want to get involved with the youth team then click on this link which takes you to the Aztecs’ recruitment page online.

For those 19 years and older wanting to get involved click on this link to sign-up.

The Aztects play at Filton Wise in Stoke Grifford and practice twice a week on Sundays (game day) and Thursdays.

Coventry Jets

The 2008 National Champions came unstuck against the London Blitz after defeating the Aztecs in the playoffs last year. They are currently recruiting for players at all levels and a link to their recruitment contact information can be found here. As posted on the home page, the Jets have just recruited their first female player, and her appointment to the roster has been sanctioned by the league.

The Jets train at the Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry and play their home games at the Butts Park Arena the home of Coventry Rugby Football Club.

Farnham Knights

The Hampshire side play at Farnborough Rugby Football Club and have youth players as well as an adult squad. Their youth side were 2009 National Champions. If you are interested in playing for the Knights e-mail KnightsCoaches08@aol.com

London Warriors

The London Warriors have what they term as their ‘Urban American Football Programme’ and they are looking to recruit players from 8 years-old and upwards.
