Two big signings in one important week for Wolves
Former Leicester Rider and treble-winner, Zaire Taylor, has made the move and joined the Worcester Wolves for the approaching 2013/2014 season.
With Taylor’s positioning on court, himself and Alex Owumi will most likely become backcourt partners, with no doubt of bring some fast pace and exciting plays to the court.
Big man Ian Salter, later on in the week became the Wolves’ latest signing. With a height measuring in at 6′ 10″, things will no doubt be difficult for other players and teams to cope with his inside dominance and positioning within the Wolves inside post play.
Wolves’ Director of Basketball Paul James felt Salter’s efforts during a recent trial were worthy of signing the player up, saying: “Ian showed me that he has the ability to claim a place in the BBL. He has some nice touches for such a big man and is hungry to make an impact.”
Salter had only good feelings about being the latest piece in the Wolves’ jigsaw, saying: “After visiting Worcester, the facility, and meeting Paul James, I immediately knew that Wolves were the club I wanted to play for. It was incredible to see the fantastic arena, but more important was the obvious focus and enthusiasm of Coach James. Playing for a club that has a drive to go to the very top is a great opportunity for me. To be a part of the Worcester Wolves is exciting and challenging and I sincerely hope to be able to help the team achieve its goals.”
With a third signing currently being finalised, this is sure becoming an important yet interesting time for the Wolves and their fans.
