Welcome to the real world of the WWE
It’s fake, it’s for kids, it’s all set up….
I have heard the above statement over and over again.
People often ask me why I love wrestling so much bearing in mind that statment; why does a 32 year old man get so excited about wrestling?
This 32 year old man has watched wrestling since the age of seven and yes my views and knowledge of the wrestling business have changed as you might expect them to, but my love for wrestling has not.
Yes I know its fake, yes I know they have a script but as a great wrestler (Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart) once said, wrestling is more real than people think.
The WWE (formerly WWF) is now a global brand – gone are the days of wrestling events being held in bingo halls and backyard barns. WWE is seen in over 80 countries world wide and is selling out at every arena and stadium it goes to.
Now a little bit about me.
My name is Andy Burrows and I am proud to call my self a wrestling nut. Yes, you could say that I am a 32 year old man who never grew up. I still collect the old WWF Hasbro figures, I still stay up ’til silly o’ clock to watch live wrestling, I go to see the WWE when its in the UK and I still buy all the magazines. My mates, my family and my wife all find this very amusing but like most wrestling fans I dont mind – like I said I have heard it all before for years and years.
Along with other WWE writers on the site I hope to bring you my thoughts and views on all things WWE over the next few weeks and months.
I hope all the wrestling fans out there will like what I write and for those non-believers, I say, just let yourself be that seven year old kid again, leave all the stress of everyday life behind and jump into the crazy word of pro wrestling…
That’s the bottom line
