Welsh international Pearce signs for Jets
Cheshire Jets have announced today a new addition to the side in 6′ 4″ shooting guard Chris Pearce.
Pearce, who represents Wales internationally led his countrymen in scoring and rebounding in the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries during the summer.
Pearce spent two years at Durham Wildcats, thanks to a scholarship in partnership with the University.
The 23-year-old has spent the first two months of this season in German for TV Werne, but a combination of circumstances lead Chris to make the decision to come back to England and join Cheshire Jets.
Returning back to British shores, he said: “It is great to finally be settled in a really good programme, back in the North West too! The Jets have the potential to be very competitive this year, and we are improving everyday”
“It’s a great city, the fans are fantastic and on court everything is in place for a successful season”
Interim Chez Marks also added: “Chris is a great addition to the team. He also has BBL experience, as well as playing in Germany. He is going to play an important role on this team and that is going to help us, so I just want to thank Chris for adding strength to the team.”
Chris made his first trip down to Plymouth with the team last Friday but will make his home and away game débuts on Saturday and Sunday against Leicester Riders and London Lions respectively.
