Wolves add Kazlauskas to pack

The Worcester Wolves coach Paul James has announced his latest signing – Lithuanian Arnas Kazlauskas.

The highly experienced Kazlauskas is 35 years old; stands 6′ 9″ tall and weighs in at 104kg so he will fill admirably the power forward position that Coach James has been trying to bring to his new look Wolves outfit for the 2011 /12 season.

PJ commented “Arnas has years and years of experience throughout the European leagues and is the player I have been searching for to add to the squad.  He has played at the highest level in Lithuania, including the national under-22 side, and won trophies with his previous clubs in the Ukraine, Italy,Bulgaria and Hungary.”

It is the big Lithuanian’s winning mentality that could be vital in the upcoming BBL season.  The Wolves let slip some games they should have won in 2010/11 and PJ decided it was time to start afresh and, with several new signings already announced and training in the gym, the experience of Kazlauskas was a key factor in this high profile signing.  Arnas has a reputation of having a very good outside shot and his size and strength make him a tough proposition at both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.

He is the latest in a long line of talented Lithuanian’s to come to the Worcester Wolves and it further enhances the Worcester club’s relationship with their contacts at the very top of Lithuanian basketball.  If he is as successful as the others such as Vidmantas Uzkuratis and Evaldas Zabas, it will prove to be another master stroke by Coach James.
