Wolves to meet Raiders in last four

Worcester Wolves started slowly away in Knowlsley Friday night, but as soon as they took the lead they never looked back. A massive performance by Richie Gordon, an amazing third quarter from Tommy Freeman and a big game for point guard Prezzie-Blue put the Tigers to the sword.

That lead for Worcester came early in the second quarter as the hosts had come out firing from the tip-off and had a five point lead (19-14) at the end of the first ten. The Wolves had wiped out that lead with an eight point 20-12 quarter, and went in to the dressing room at the half 34-31 up.

With Gordon and Prezzie-Blue chippng away throughout it was Freeman’s burst in the third that took the game away from the hosts. A 20 point period including four baskets from beyond the arc for the shooting guard saw Worcester double the points tally of the Tigers for the quarter and took them to a 19 point lead with ten left.

Worcester’s superiority continued throughout the last quarter and Richie Gordon finished off what was a great night under both baskets for the centre with a double double of 27 points and 15 rebounds for the game.
